Workouts of the Week
Happy Friday guys! I hope you all are doing well! We are excited for the weekend over here and can’t wait to get the festivities started. My sister in law’s birthday was this week and my birthday is next week, which means we have lots of partying scheduled for Saturday and Sunday 😉
Today, I thought it would be fun to share my workouts of the week with you all. Let me know what you guys think of this type of post and if you want me to share more of my workouts with you, I will!
Monday
I started the week off with an easy two mile run and finished off my workout with a fifteen minute arm workout. I focused mainly on biceps, triceps, and shoulders. I used ten and twenty pound dumbbells and enjoyed the challenge a Monday morning arm day gave me. Since upper body is my least favorite part of my body to workout, I like to get it done right away.
Tuesday
Tuesday was leg day (hence the above picture.) As mentioned of Wednesday’s post, I used Julie’s leg burner workout and as usual, it proved to live up to it’s name. My legs were on fire at the end of the workout and I’ve been sore the rest of this week. I love this workout because it’s only twenty minutes long, easy to do at home, and super effective!
Wednesday
On Wednesday, I laced up my running shoes again and ran another two mile run outside in the crazy winds! Although it was super windy outside, I did get some negative splits and I was happy about my run. My overall pace was around an 8:30, and my second mile was around an 8:15.
Thursday
Yesterday, I split my workout into two different chunks. My friend, Savannah (who spent a few days with us this week) began our morning with this ten minute ab workout. Hello burn. Try this out and let me know if you survive!
Later on last night, I attended my mom and sisters’ exercise class which focuses on dance fitness (i.e. Zumba) and Pilates. The class split up the time between the two with thirty minutes for each and I left feeling sore and tired after my hour workout! (photo above from my last time I attended the workout class!)
Friday
This morning, I woke up sore and decided to keep things little more relaxed. I tried out a different ten minute ab video (this one) and finished up with a ten minute stretching session video. Nice and relaxing was just what I needed today!
Tomorrow, I’m planning on a long run and Sunday is an off day for me!
In short, this is what my week looked like
- Monday – run + upper body
- Tuesday – leg day
- Wednesday – progressive run + stretch
- Thursday – total body Pilates + Zumba and 10 minute abs
- Friday – 10 minute abs + stretching
- Saturday – long run, paced slow. (I’m building mileage back up, so a long run for me right now is around 4-5 miles)
- Sunday – off
And there you have it! A week of working out. I can’t wait for my long run tomorrow and I’m equally looking forward to my rest day! Rest days are just as important as workout days!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
