Sweet Potato Fries
There is something magical about French fries; with the crispy outside and soft inside, there’s nothing to not like. Except for the fact that most French fries, as good as they are, are deep-fried in a vat of grease. Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing bad about enjoying greasy French fries now and then. But, if you are able to replicate them at home without the mess and the grease, it is a win win.
I like regular fries, or should I say, I tolerate them, but I absolutely adore sweet potato fries. The salty sweet combo is always a winner in my book.
After a while of messing around with different spice mixtures and oils, I may (or may not you decide!) have nailed the sweet potato fry recipe.
It’s easy, semi-fast, and tasty.
I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I do!
Oven Roasted Sweet Potato Fries
- 1-2 Large Sweet Potatoes
- 1 Tsp. EVOO or Coconut Oil (my favorite is Coconut Oil, but when we are out, EVOO works just as well.) *
- 1 Tsp. Garlic Powder
- 1 Tsp. Onion Powder
- 1 Tsp. Parsley Flakes
- 1/2 Tsp. Salt
- 1/2 Tsp. Black Pepper
- 1/2 Tsp. Allspice
- 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
Slice sweet potato into chunks, rounds, or fry shape. (Any shape works, just make sure they are roughly 1/2 inch think, like the above pictures.) Once cut up, drizzle with EVOO or melted coconut oil. Stir until all covered. Add seasonings. Stir again until all seasonings look evenly distributed. Lay on stone or baking sheet and bake at 415.
Cook 20-25 minutes and flip. Cook another 10-20 minutes, watching for juice to ‘bubble’ and the slices to be fork tender.
Once tender, remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
Enjoy with any sauce you prefer or plain.
That’s all for now, I have to get ready for work. (Thank goodness it’s Friday!)
Hope you all have a great weekend!
