Running, Family time, a Graduation, and My Watermlon Obession: Weekend Recap (5/30)

Before I jump into this post, I would like to say Happy Memorial Day! I am so thankful to those who have sacrificed for our country and have enabled us to live in a free land. I hope that you all have a wonderful day, soaking in the freedom we all share and remembering our Nation’s heroes.

Friday to Sunday, this weekend was jam packed with fun activities. I don’t know if I got quite enough sleep though, so a nap may or may not happen today. 😉

Let’s rewind to Friday…. My sisters spent the night and we hung out all day long. We spent the day shopping, running a few errands, watching BBC period dramas, and walking around town.

This is one of my favorite homes around town. I love the character and all the windows.

Friday evening, after dropping my sister- in-laws off, Landon and I watched my “little” sister, Abby graduated.

While we were there, I ran into my other homeschool graduates of 2013, oh time does fly.

Of course, since Charissa and I were together, we had to take a selfie. 😉

After Abby’s graduation ceremony, we celebrated with ice cream, which I wasn’t at all upset about.

Saturday morning, Landon and I woke up “early” and headed out the door with a few hours of sleep under our belts, full water bottles,  and oh, a huge bowl of watermelon.

I obviously have a strong obsession with watermelon right now.

It may be weird to travel with a bowl of watermelon in your car, but I think that the watermelon helped me stay more hydrated on my run. So, no judgement.

While Landon played soccer with friends, I explored new trails and knocked out five miles. They weren’t my fastest five miles that I’ve ever done, but I was happy to be with the mileage.

(Landon is somewhere out there!)

After coming home, cleaning up, and eating a late breakfast/early lunch, we worked on some projects and headed to my in-laws.

Landon, his brothers, and dad played Bocce, while the ladies and I talked.

We spent the rest of the time grilling out, dipping out feet in the pool, talking, and watching, “Risen.”

In comparison with Friday and Saturday, Sunday was pretty low-key, involving church, grocery shopping, a movie, personal flat bread pizzas (recipe coming soon!) and an evening walk.

This weekend has been the perfect mixture of activities and relaxation. I’m excited for a new week and conquering my massive to-do list.

Hope you all have a great rest of your Monday!
