Remembering to Slow Down
In the midst of planning a wedding, running a business, writing a blog, and nannying, it is easy to run through each day without stopping to slow down and enjoy each moment.
I am a firm believer in seizing each moment. I like to wake up with a mission to get things done that day. I love to use my time to the fullest extent and not waste minutes, hours, or days. And although, generally this is a good philosophy, I have found over the years that it is beneficial to remember to slow down. I need to remind myself that it is ok to rest, figuratively or literally.
Last week, I did just that. I sat down and read a whole book, had my devotions, and spent most of the day still before the Lord. Sometimes, I just need a solid run or quiet moments in my room in prayer. Either way, remember that although productivity and activities are great, rest is important for your health too; spiritually, emotionally, and physically!
So friends, remember to slow down, embrace and enjoy each day that the Lord gives! And while we enjoy, let’s seize each moment, live life to the fullest, and get much accomplished for the glory of God!
Psalm 46:10
“Be still and know that I am God.”
