Friday Favorites: Home Updates, Running, and New Finds

OH heeeey friends! I am so pumped that we are heading into the weekend. This week, compared to last week has felt pretty chill, but I am always up for extra time time with my best friends and slower mornings. This week has been a good one and I am so excited for a couple of low-key days, spent working on a few house projects, running, and eating some good food.

Today, I wanted to share a few things that made me smile this week and will, hopefully brighten your Friday! Let me know in the comments below what made you smile this week and what your weekend plans look like!

Curtains

It’s amazing what a difference a few, easy, little fixes make to a space. When we first moved in, I had a mile long list of things I wanted to do to the place to make it more homey and give it our own personal touches. One of my top priorities was putting up curtains. They had blinds up, originally, but neither Landon or I love blinds. Instead, we mounted a curtain rod, threw up some curtains and it looks so much more cozy now. Winning. I am also planning on replacing a few light fixtures, adding some wall art to the walls, getting a few real and fake plants (most of my plants die on me, but I am determined to change this!) and painting! So far, we have one item checked off the list. Curtains = done.

Benaiah’s ‘Choo-choos’

Yesterday, Benaiah and I spotted a garage sale mid run and we had to stop. I quickly popped in to look around and noticed a train set for sale. Benaiah immediately wanted to play with it and I couldn’t resist his sweet grin. I didn’t have my wallet on me, so we ran 1 mile home, I drank a proteins shake and then we walked back to get the choo-choo set. I looked semi-ridiculous on the walk back, balancing a train set above the stroller, but we made it home 2 miles later. We spent the rest of the afternoon before nap time playing with trains. Seeing the joy on his face made the blazing hot 2 mile walk all worth it. #momlife

Three Mile Runs!

In my post yesterday, I shared about how my running has been going lately and how I am basically starting over, fresh this late summer/fall and building back a solid base. The past week, I’ve run 3 three mile runs and one 2 miler, putting my mileage so far at 11 miles for the week. It is nowhere near what I was at pre-injury, but it is a whole lot farther than where I was during my injury. I am determined to celebrate each baby step, because I do know that one day, it will lead up to something great. Plus, it just feels so good to be back out there doing what I love.
