Friday Favorites (1/6)
Good morning and happy FriYay to all of you out there! I hope you guys have some fun Friday and weekend plans. So far, Landon and I have a good mixture of relaxation and socialization in order, as well as a birthday party with Chinese food! Can someone say yes please?!
This first week of 2017 turned out to be super busy, with multiple friends over during the day and hosting dinners and get togethers at night. Needless to say, we had a great week filled with time with friends and now I’m ready for some relaxation!
To kick off this Friday, I thought I would share some of my favorite highlights throughout the week.
Reading Time
Last Saturday, I came into the living room to find Landon and Benaiah reading together. It’s moments like these that I don’t want to forget. Benaiah’s starting to enjoy listening to books and looking at the pictures, which makes mama really happy. Lately, his favorite book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Texas Caviar
Leave it to my mom to make my entire week. Sunday, my parents came over to hang out and she provided one of my favorite dishes- Texas Caviar. (Disclaimer There isn’t any caviar in there.) This tasty dish is supposed to be a chip dip, but I could eat a whole bowlful plain. No shame.
Benaiah’s New Skills
This little man is grabbing everything in sight (which makes me concerned when I wear earrings!) I love watching him learn and discover new things. His recent favorite toys are the teething ring, shown above, his musical caterpillar, his turtle, and another smaller teething ring.
Scrabble
One of our goals this year is to do more activities other than just simply watching movies and talking for our date nights. Although we both enjoy chilling on the couch with a good movie, we wanted to change things up! Enter: Scrabble. Landon won (in my defense- by a little!) and we had fun switching up our typical date nights. Does anyone else like to play games? Any good game recommendations?
Coffee
Coffee has been a highlight this week, because last week we ran out of coffee. It was terrible and this week, life is much, much better.
Fresh Food
After a week or so of holiday food, it feels so, so good to get back to eating our typical salads, eggs, chicken, and quinoa. I did enjoy the typical holiday food fare, but by the end of the holiday season, I was more than ready to get back to eating my veggies. Did anyone else feel this way?
Total Body Bodyweight Workout
Yesterday, I completed this super sweaty, super fun workout, thanks to Julie! I love how fun, fast, and furious this body weight workout was and I will definitely be adding into my cross training rotation! Find more description of the workout on Julie’s blog, here.
And that’s it! Have a great weekend everyone. I hope you get a lot of quality rest in as well as some fun! I’ll talk with you all soon.
