Chocolate Almond Butter Protein Bites
I don’t know if it is the hormones or the hunger from breastfeeding, or maybe a mixture of both, but my sweet tooth has been raging lately- which is very unusual for me! When I have a craving for something sweet or sugar filled, I try to find a healthy sweet treat to satisfy my cravings. (Although life is all about balance- ice cream makes my heart happy.)
Yesterday, when I was staring at the fridge, willing something sweet to find its way to make it into my mouth, instead of digging into the not-so-healthy sweets, I decided to whip up something with protein and sweetness. Healthy and delicious? I’ll take it.
Without further ado, almond butter protein bites. Make them now and thank me later. 😉
- 2 c. Oats
- 1/2 c. Melted coconut oil
- 3/4 c. Almond butter (or peanut butter)
- 2 tbsp. Chia seeds
- 1/4 c. Honey
- 2 scoops chocolate whey protein powder
Method
Combine all ingredients in bowl. Mix until combined. Scoop with cookie scoop and place onto baking sheet – chill for 1 hour in fridge. Enjoy.
