Banana Ice Cream

Ice cream has long been one of my favorite desserts. Now that the warm weather is coming around, nothing sounds as good as creamy and sweet ice cream!

Fun fact: my Aunt Lisa makes killer homemade ice cream. Looking forward to some of that this summer!

Although ice cream is delicious and one of my favorite desserts, I wouldn’t call it the most nutritious option ;). So, when I am craving ice cream and don’t want to have the real thing, I make this.

The good news: it tastes so similar to “real” ice cream! (And *disclaimer* in no way am I saying to not eat normal ice cream. I respect a good bowl of ice cream- especially homemade. *cough, cough, Aunt Lisa.* )

The bad news: you’ll have to freeze lots of bananas after making this once. Because, you’ll want it over and over again.

Banana Ice Cream

2 large, ripe bananas, sliced and frozen solid. (Or more depending on how big of a batch you want!)

A splash of milk (cow, almond, coconut or any other)

Optional add ins:

Cocoa powder (hello chocolate ice cream)

Cinnamon

Vanilla extract

Maple syrup

Honey

Peanut butter

Add all ingredients to blender or food processor. Make sure not to add too much milk, unless you want a shake!

Once all ingredients are added, blend until smooth and creamy. The bananas will break into crumbled pieces, but keep blending. You may need to scrape the sides of the blender and pulse the mixture a couple times until smooth. Just be patient, it will be worth it.

Once blended, scrape into a bowl and top with whatever toppings your heart desires.

Enjoy immediately!
