A Standard Wednesday + Community Pools are the Best
Normally, I am sitting down with a big old cup of coffee in hand, but alas heart burn has come again and coffee really isn’t sounding good this afternoon. So, instead I’m chugging iced water and relishing a few moments of peace and quiet. I hope you all are having a great start to your Thursday – can you believe we are already almost to the end of the week?! We have a pretty low-key couple of days and then bam, the weekend starts. Last weekend we were camping with our church, which was a blast, but I’ll be honest I am excited about sleeping in a regular bed this weekend 😉
I haven’t shared a peak into our daily life for a while now but these are my favorite to share, so let’s chat about yesterday.
Yesterday morning started off with a cup of coffee (morning coffee is my best cup of coffee currently. Any other cup after I don’t finish. I think I like the idea more than the actual taste if it is anywhere past 9 am.) and time with Jesus. Tuesday night, I was exhausted but didn’t sleep well. I think it was a combo of the little one’s feet in my ribs + a ton of movement that kept me up for an hour around 2 am. Usually when I sleep I am OUT but hello pregnancy insomnia, you are not welcome. Thankfully, after some time in the Word and a cup of coffee I felt more human and headed over to our new ‘workout’ room to work on some upper body.
Since my hip is still sore, I haven’t done much lower body and focused on upper body. I figured even if it doesn’t clear up until baby comes I can work on getting my upper body stronger than it’s ever been before, haha.
After completing an upper body workout, I quickly rinsed off in the shower and got ready for our friends to pop over. Brittani, a fellow mama who I met over Instagram of all things (social media is weird sometimes, but I love when I can become real friends with Instagram friends) came over about an hour after Niah woke up, which gave us plenty of time for breakfast and morning play.
Benaiah is still obsessed with dirt and all things construction, so the kiddos played in the mud while Brittani and I chatted about all things mom life, running, marathoning, and more. So fun to chat with a fellow mother runner. PS. This girl is fast, she’s currently training with a group of women who are chasing sub 3 hour marathons! I am excited to run with her eventually and have her push me on my speed days (most likely they will be her easy days, haha)
After Brittani and Abby left, Benaiah and I washed his trucks off, played outside for a little while longer, and got a quick/random lunch. Around an hour or so later, we started nap time routines and eventually fell asleep for nap time.
Once Benaiah was up, we made a quick dinner (I can’t even remember what we ate – is that bad?) and then headed to the POOL. One thing I love about living in the suburbs is the ease and access to a lot of fun options. We love our community and love going to the pool as a family. Once Landon made it home, we hopped into the car and ended the evening with 1.5 hours of pool time. It was so fun to spend time together splashing in the water and I think this was probably the first time I’ve seen Benaiah so enthusiastic in the splash pad and pool. Watching him conquer fears and become brave in the water makes me so proud. He’s growing up way too fast.
We headed home around 8 and got a very tried, happy boy to bed before crashing in bed ourselves. Thankful for these sweet summer days, night, and memories that I will cherish for a lifetime. I love how the mundane and every day moments are really what life is made up of and I am thankful to be living each moment of it with my favorite people.
