A Marvelous Weekend

Hello friends and happy Tuesday! I am so glad to be with you all today, sharing a little peek into our weekend. Last weekend was one of the best weekends I’ve had for a while. Landon and I only had one thing on the schedule and that was much needed. The past couple of weeks we’ve had back to back activities scheduled and as much as I love that, I needed some down time with my favorite boys.

Landon and I slept in Saturday morning until eight o’clock, which felt amazing. Lately, Benaiah is sleeping in too, which makes is a lot easier and way more relaxing in the mornings. Usually, I want to be up early to fit in ‘all the things,’ before he wakes up, but it was nice having a couple extra hours of sleep.

Once Niah was up, we all ate some toast/pb/ and honey (we ate a small breakfast because we had a family run planned!) and hung out with Niah in his bedroom. Lately, Niah has really loved playing in his room with his stuffed animals and trucks. He especially loves it when both mom and dad play animals with him. Saturday morning was all about the trucks and animals before our family run.

After we were all warmed up and ready to go, we put Niah in the stroller and ran an easy 5 miles route along a new-to us path. It was so fun to run as a family and explore a new area. We haven’t gone on a family run in a while and I didn’t realize how much I missed it until we went together again. Last year, I ran so many miles with Landon and Niah, but this summer has looked a lot different. I am so thankful to feel so much more in a groove with my running.

We ran five miles in 45 minutes, keeping the pace easy the entire time and almost immediately after got a oat milk latte for me and donuts for the boys. I had my first ever oat milk latte and it was AMAZING. I am hooked on oat milk for life. If you haven’t had it – you need to try it asap. It tastes so similiar to dairy, I would have thought it was dairy in my coffee if I didn’t know otherwise. “Long” run and the best coffee ever = one happy Bethany.

After coffee and donuts, we made a quick trip the grocery store and grabbed some necessary items for our Chipotle feast. Saturday morning, Landon and I decided to homemade Chipotle bowls for dinner and let me say – it was a good decision. While Niah napped and Landon worked on some projects, I zoned out and chopped up about a million things. Sometimes zoning out in the kitchen is just what I need. It felt oddly refreshing to veg out in the kitchen for almost two hours and it was definitely worth it. The bowls tasted quite similar to my favorite burrito chain and I am almost sure it was a lot cheaper too. Win, win, win.

Landon and I spent the rest of the night playing with Niah and watching episodes of Downtown Abbey while eating hot apple crisp.

Sunday

The last couple Sunday’s I’ve been on worship team, which is awesome, but also means that we have to get to church 90 minutes earlier than normal. This Sunday, I wasn’t on, which meant we got an entire hour and a half extra at home and it felt so good. Typical worship team mornings = a mad dash out the door, but Sunday we were able to make waffles, have devotions, sip coffee and relax a little before heading out the door.

The sermon was so encouraging and Niah sat through the entire sermon, which hasn’t happened before! #winning

Sunday afternoon, we had some friends over for chili and apple crisp and it felt so fun to catch up with some of our favorite people.

Landon and I wrapped the rest of the evening with more Downtown (shhh, don’t tell anyone) and late night cups of coffee.

All in all, it was such a great weekend, filled
