A Bagel Date, Red Roses, and a Scrabble Game (Weekend Recap 10/30)
Eh guys, Monday’s here and I’m kicking it off with a cold. I don’t know where I caught this bug but Sunday night I went to be feeling less than stellar. Colds are so strange, because for the rest of the weekend, I felt great (which I’m thankful for.) I’m hoping that this thing is just a 24-48 bug and that I’ll be back on my feet soon. I’ve got a full week and 0 time to be sick.
Since this is a recap post, let’s rewind back to Saturday morning.
Saturday morning began, as usual, with a cup of coffee.
Thanks to another late Friday night, we barely made it to our weekly soccer game.
Benaiah seemed to enjoy the attention from all the soccer players, especially the attention from his daddy.
After the soccer game ended, Landon and I decided to celebrate a bonus he got a work with bagels. Because, bagels = happiness.
Honestly, the rest of our Saturday was pretty low-key. While Landon went to help a friend with their house (their doing a huge renovation.), Benaiah and I went shopping, cleaned the house, and watched some Fixer Upper. As I was shopping, I came across Pumpkin Spiced Cheerios. They taste as amazing as they sound. Has anyone else had these?
I prepared a super simple (lazy?) dinner of quinoa, ground turkey, and peas which we enjoyed when Landon came home.
Landon surprised me my bringing home a dozen red roses. Isn’t he the sweetest?
After dinner, we ended the evening with catching up and a few episodes of our current Netflix series.
Sunday morning came quickly and we found ourselves, again, rushing out the door to church. It must take time to become adjusted to having a little one/the amount of time it takes to get everyone ready. And I don’t think we’ve quite gotten the hang of it yet.
After church, we had my brother in law and his girlfriend over for sandwiches, chips, veggies, homemade apple crisp, and games.
The apple crisp was 100% clean, but 100% delicious, so everyone was happy.
Benaiah loved the attention.
After sandwiches, we played a game of scramble, which Landon won. Apparently, I need to up my scrabble game. #lastplace
Once Billy and Jenny left, Landon and I chilled in bed, talking and laughing hysterically. Don’t ask me what we were talking about, I have no idea. It was around that time, that I started to feel chilled, achy, and just all around sick. I ate a sandwich for dinner (that Landon made me, so sweet.) hoping that maybe I was just hungry. The sandwiches seemed to help a little, but it didn’t take away the chills/aches. We decided to call it a night, I fed Niah, washed my face, and crawled into bed.
Even though the weekend ended on a not-so-nice note, it really was a nice weekend. Landon and I were able to spend a lot of time together and we also we able to spend time with family and friends.
And with that note, I’ll leave you for today. I’m hoping that this illness passes quickly. So, if you need me, I’ll be chilling in bed (as much as I can) and taking lots of vitamin C.
