16 Miles + We are OFF
Good morning and happy Monday to all my favorite people! I am super excited for today, because we are off for vacation! Since I am in the middle of packing and getting out the door for our first family vacation, I will keep today brief.
However, I had to pop in and share a little about our weekend!
Saturday
Since I had my long run on Sunday, Landon went to soccer and I hung out with Benaiah. We enjoyed breakfast together (smoothie for me, banana + cheerios for him) and soon after, Benaiah went down for a nap.
Once Landon came home, we had an early lunch, cleaned the house, packed and got ready for a wedding!
I don’t know about you guys, but I love weddings. Celebrating two lives coming together as one, eating good food, and dancing the night away is perfectly wonderful in my opinion. The wedding was held at a country club and I was blown away by the beauty of the location! The couple was equally as stunning and we were so happy for them!
Before leaving, Landon and I shared a quick dance and made it back home to Benaiah who was hanging out with his grandma and aunts. Soon after saying goodbye, we crashed into bed.
Sunday
Sunday morning I woke up bright and early because I had 16 miles to run and all BEFORE church! Honestly, it was quite hard to leave the warmth of the bed and my sweet, snuggly boys, but I knew if I didn’t I would regret it!
I toasted a piece of bread and smeared a little peanut butter on it before lacing up my shoes. Landon and Benaiah dropped me off a the group meet up spot and before we knew it, we were off!
I started off running with an 8:30 group (I was orriginally hoping to run with my 9 group). I stayed with them for a while, but realized I better hold back a little to conserve energy. Thankfully, I knew the route, which was good, since I ended up running miles 4-9 by myself. Around mile 9, I met up with a 9:30 pacing group and recognized the pacer, Becky, from my running group! I gladly, hopped into the group and finished the other 7 miles with them. I felt really good, up until mile 14.5 and once I hit that spot, I started to get tired. Thankfully, I wasn’t much pain and I didn’t have any ‘injury’ pain, but I was ready to be done 😉 I gave myself a little pep talk and finished the last 1.5 miles strong!
Landon and Benaiah greeted me with hugs which made the run, even sweeter! After stretching, sticking my foot in ice cold water, and enjoying the amazing watermelon our group supplied (!), we headed home to get ready for church.
I rushed around, showered, gulped down a pretty shake, and headed out the door, right on time!
We spent the rest of the day lounging around at my parent’s and enjoying one of my favorites, zucchini pie for dinner. We chatted, sang a few songs with my sistas, and finished off the night with a comedy.
I hope you guys had an awesome weekend!
